Howdy, neighbor

Have you ever paused to reflect on what makes our community unique? The quiet beauty of our trails, the charm of our equestrian spaces, and the heartfelt way neighbors come together for events like the Boat Parade.

Jeffries Ranch is our home. And it’s worth preserving and protecting all that makes it special. That is why we’re saddling up to launch the Jeffries Ranch Community Foundation. It’s a collective effort to safeguard the heritage, landscapes, and bonds that define our home.

This initiative is not born out of nostalgia, but necessity. Without intentional care, the elements that knit us together—the well-maintained trails, the integrity of our public spaces, and the natural habitats that surround us—risk fading.

Jeffries Ranch Community Foundation will focus on three pillars:

  1. Preservation: Maintaining trails, fencing, and shared spaces to ensure they remain safe, functional, and reflective of our community’s values.
  2. Community: Organizing events and programs that foster connection, celebrate our history, and create new traditions.
  3. Conservation: Protecting the ecosystems that sustain local wildlife and enrich our daily lives.

Why now? Because legacies are not inherited passively. They are built through action. A crumbling fence, an overgrown trail, or a silent community calendar are not inevitabilities. They are challenges we can meet together.

We invite you to join us in this effort. Whether through volunteering for cleanup projects, sharing ideas for community events, or supporting conservation initiatives, your participation is vital.

This foundation belongs to all of us, and its success depends on our shared responsibility to our home and to one another.

Ways you can get involved:

Together, we can honor the past while building a sustainable, vibrant future for Jeffries Ranch.

With grit and gratitude,

Juliet

I like your ideas and concerns. I moved to JR 36 years ago. My previous neighborhood had these very same shared values. They did not realize they had to be protected and lost all of those to developers desires. I I would like to help out in anyway I can.

Hi, email I received this week. Thought you and others would be interested. Sign rally tomorrow 0845 across from Guajome Park opposing this high-density housing project bordering Guajome Park. PLEASE SHARE WITH OTHERS!!

Hello fellow Guardian of Guajome Park!

Thank you for signing the petition opposing the high-density housing project next to Guajome Park. Please keep sharing with friends and neighbors- it really helps!! And if you’re new here and want to get caught up, please check out our website at http://www.guardguajome.org for all the details.

How else can you help protect Guajome Park? 🐝🌻🌿🪺🐦‍⬛🦇🦎🦋
We desperately need more help to have a chance at fighting this.
Speak at the 8/11 Planning Commission meeting. Bring a friend and attend with a homemade sign! A strong citizen turnout holding signs is a must, and every additional speaker increases the chances of a favorable outcome. It’s at 6:00pm at City Hall Council chambers, 300 N. Coast Highway in Oceanside.
We are holding a sign-waving rally Sunday morning (7/27) across from the park. We would love if you could join us. I will have some extra homemade signs but feel free to make your own. Super simple is fine or get creative. I have extra materials if you need any! We are meeting at 8:45am at 4601 Old Ranch Road. There is plenty of street parking. If you plan to come, please let me know. I’ll also have flyers to hand out but could use help printing more.
Know any members of City Council or the press? Contact me if you have contacts within the City Council or the press so we can explore how to make them aware of this threat to Guajome Park
We are looking for help in creating content for a short video, if photography or videography is your jam.
